Join us on Friday, February 9th from 6 to 9pm for Friday for the Arts! at the Petersburg Area Art League (PAAL), 7 E. Old St., Petersburg, Virginia for the Exhibit “The Art of Making a Book” and accompanying book signing. Come meet the author, inspiration for, and some of the Creative Team of “Lula Belle’s Big Battersea Adventure”. This publication was written in part as a tribute and commemoration of the 250th anniversary in 2018 of the construction of the historic Anglo Palladian Battersea Villa. Author Kimberly Ann Calos and Miss Lula Belle Clark, the inspiration for the story’s main character, will be on hand to sign limited edition copies of this colorful book. They will be joined by Graphic Designer, Mikey Fuller and Executive Director of the Battersea Foundation and Lula Belle’s mother, Toni Clark.
Peruse the display of original paintings by the UK’s Phil Lewis, paired with the finished pages of the book
designed by Mr. Fuller. Children and adults of all ages will delight in the antics of Lula Belle, an eight-
year-old shih tzu pup, who along with her new pal, journeys to some of Petersburg’s most iconic sites.
For a mere $20 donation, you can own a copy of this epic book. All proceeds benefit the ongoing
renovations of the Battersea Foundation’s Battersea Villa.
Commissions for original work by Phil Lewis, who has painted over 100 area sites, will be taken on a first
come basis. You can own your very own piece of this world renowned and philanthropic master of the
canvas. A generous portion of each commission will be donated to Battersea Foundation.
